Admission Process, Requirements & Supporting Documents
For school Leavers Programmes:
- Candidates must have completed secondary education.
- Must have at least a credit in physic, mathematics and any other 3 subjects from O’ Levels result e.g., SSCE, NECO, NABTEB or GCE results.
- Must be medically fit to undergo training.
- Study the information of the programme you are interested in from the IIT website page.
- Fill the Admission form (online). This is the first step towards studying at the Institute for Industrial Technology (IIT).
- At the end of this form, candidates are to attach the following:
- A pdf copy of their SSCE/GCE/NECO result,
- A Pdf copy of their original Birth certificate,
- A recommendation letter from their secondary school principal or a testimonial
- A passport photograph.
- After filling this form, a text message and/or an email will be sent to you as regards payment details for the N5,000 entrance assessment fee.
- On the confirmation of your payment for the entrance assessment, the date, time, and duration of the entrance examination will be sent to you.
- This is a written assessment at IIT’s premises.
- This covers – Mathematics, Physics, English, Technical Abilities and Aptitude.
- A hard copy passport photograph is to be submitted.
- After the entrance assessment, you shall be scheduled for a Faculty interview. This is an oral assessment.
- If you are successful with the two previous assessments, you will be called for a Management Interview. Candidates are to attend the Management Interview with both parents. At this stage you shall be informed if you have been considered to apply for scholarship.
- After the Management Interview, the candidate will be referred to the recommended hospital for a medical assessment. Candidates are to pay the cost of the medical assessment.
- If you are successful at all stages, you shall be offered admission into the programme of your choice.
- After you have been offered admission into IIT, those considered for scholarship will be awarded.
- Note that your admission into IIT for a particular start date period is considered successful if you have paid the acceptance fee (i.e., first instalment of the tuition) before the class is filled up.
- IIT’s maximum class size is 24.
- Admission is successful on first come first serve basis based on payment.
- Attending the orientation programme completes the admission process.
For Graduate and Workers Programmes:
- Candidates must have good knowledge of Physics and Mathematics.
- Candidates from non-science backgrounds who desire to join the programme can undergo personal study of physics and mathematics. They are to demonstrate a good understanding of these subjects at the entrance assessment and interview.
- Must be medically fit to undergo training.
- Study the information of the programme you are interested in from the IIT website page.
- Fill the Admission form (online). This is the first step towards studying at the Institute for Industrial Technology (IIT).
- At the end of this form, candidates are to attach a pdf copy of all Academic credentials i.e.
- O/A-Level results,
- A tertiary graduation certificate, etc.
- A curriculum vitae (C.V) and
- A passport photograph.
- After filling this form, a text message and/or an email will be sent to you as regards payment details for the N5,000 entrance assessment fee.
- On the confirmation of your payment for the entrance assessment, the date, time, and duration of the entrance examination will be sent to you.
- This is a written assessment (online or physical)
