School Leavers Programme

A school leavers programme is a structured training pathway designed for young people who have just completed secondary school within the ages of 16 years to 23 years. Instead of going straight to university, they receive practical technical skills, vocational training, and work experience that prepare them for employment or further studies.

Aim of the School Leavers Programme

To bridge the gap between school education and the workplace.
To equip young people with employable skills in technical and industrial fields. Equipping school leavers with practical technical skills in electrical, electronics, design, machine programming, mechanical and fabrication, and industrial technologies.
To give youths a clear career path which will help reduce unemployment among youths.
To promote personal development and responsibility, not just technical ability. Helping them develop character and work ethics, alongside professional competence.

Objectives

Deliver structured and hands-on training in electrical, electronics, mechanical systems, and automation etc.
Blend theory with real industrial practice through internships in partner companies.
Support disadvantaged youths with scholarships and mentorship.
Build character, teamwork, and problem-solving skills alongside technical know-how.
Create clear career pathways—graduates can move into employment, self-employment, or advanced studies (OND, HND, or university degrees) - if needed - in a field decided with much more clarity.

IIT School Leavers Programme helps secondary school graduates become skilled technicians with strong character, ready for the workplace or higher education. They become employable technicians through a mix of training, internships, and personal development.
